Newtown Silos

From the outset, the Newtown Silos was always going to be different. With figure eight shaped apartments and star shaped bathrooms as a residential project it was never going to conform and with 64 apartments over 3 buildings and 14 levels and with a total construction cost of $21,000,000, the Newtown Silos is Angus Development's largest and most ambitious project to date.

The Conversion of the Crago Flour Mills into residential apartments commenced planning in 2001 and was completed in 2005. The dynamic, bold and sculptural architecture of Tonkin Zulaikha Greer has culminated in several awards including the Marrickville Medal for Conversion as well as The National Trust of Australia Adaptive Reuse Award.
